Karen McGavin
I am a retired educator who worked as a 6th grade teacher, a counselor, and instructional support teacher guided by my concern and compassion for children, as well as my desire to help them become the best people they could be. I also love animals, and have long been an animal rights advocate.
Today, I spend a great deal of time traveling with my trained therapy dog, Finnley, bringing loving support to nursing homes, senior centers, schools, and to children who have been victims of abuse. Additionally, I have shared the same concern and compassion with my clients during my nineteen years as a real estate agent helping in their quest to find the home of their dreams.
"Selling my mother's home to pay for her nursing home care when she was suffering from dementia was one of the emotionally difficult times of my life. Without the compassion and understanding of my mother's difficult disposition shown by my realtor, Karen McGavin, I'm not sure I could have survived it. She spoke gently with my mother and gave us both comfort as she arranged for the sale with as few problems as possible. I will forever be in her debt."
